Rotary Club of Dhanbad was chartered in 1946 and now in its 75th glorious year seeing and surving the change from private coal mines to nationalized coal mines, from the state of Bihar to Jharkhand, to spurt in private enterprises in contrast to Government apathy.
The club today has 88 members – all leading citizen of the town- covering a spectrum of vocations and professions. While the club is continuously involved in services projects: medical camps, tree plantation, youth camps, girl child scholarships, etc its flagship project ate three permanent projects:
1.Jeevan Jyoti School for the Differently Abled
2.Saheli Vocational Training Centre for Women
